For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Browns walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The McCoy pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
Spencer Fano at the 6th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
In the 24th overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Emmanuel Pregnon in Round 2, Pick 7, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Germie Bernard in slot 70 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
