Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Buccaneers never addressed offensive lineman, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
However the rest shakes out, Stowers at that price is a win they earned. They went 2 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a three-down second-level presence. Need was not the driver here.
They paid sticker price for Lee Hunter in pick 46, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Eli Stowers in the 74th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
