There is a lot to like until you notice cornerback is still a hole. The Saints never got to the one that mattered most. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 8 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Zion Young at No. 42 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Elijah Sarratt at par in slot 73, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
