Of all the ways to open, the Steelers chose the head-scratcher, spending pick 53 on Gennings Dunker with interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots still wide open. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st overall pick they get a blindside protector. More want than need.
They bypassed pressing needs at interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots to take Gennings Dunker, an offensive lineman that was not the priority.
Davison Igbinosun in No. 76 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Nothing to complain about; Garrett Nussmeier went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Bryce Lance in pick No. 99. It fills a real need, too.
