The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named wide receiver, a need the 49ers walked right past. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
On value alone, Igbinosun makes the weekend a net positive. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Kenyon Sadiq at pick No. 27 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Fair-plus on Jake Slaughter, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board had Davison Igbinosun higher than the 127th pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No edge and no loss on Kaleb Proctor in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They did well to land Harold Perkins Jr. in pick 138, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Isaiah World in Round 4, Pick 39 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
