Somebody in Round 4, Pick 7 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Browns sat still while Kamari Ramsey, the No. 78 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They are betting Tiernan proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Job largely done: quarterback settled and 8 of 9 of the wish list covered.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
Good price on Jeremiyah Love in pick 6, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
In the 24th pick they get a matchup weapon at tight end. A real need, handled.
They reached a country mile for Caleb Tiernan at pick No. 39, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Elijah Sarratt in slot 70 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kamari Ramsey at Round 4, Pick 7 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A clean, defensible pick in the 146th overall pick with a little surplus value in Hezekiah Masses. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Skyler Gill-Howard at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Taylen Green slid further than he should have, and No. 206 is lovely value for the quarterback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Bryce Foster a notch or two before his time. A need, and now a little less of one.
