The phones were a trap the Giants kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.
Everything downstream of Bo Nix depends on Bo Nix, and the building knows it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
Bullock falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 2 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In slot 23 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
No drama and no debate, Max Melton went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A quiet steal in Round 3, Pick 33: Dominick Puni for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Steal is underselling it; Calen Bullock at pick No. 114 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Cody Schrader at pick 183 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
