There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Eagles started one anyway for Curtis Jacobs, 26 picks ahead of schedule. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
However the rest shakes out, Holker at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
Amarius Mims in the 22nd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Xavier Worthy at No. 50 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Fair-plus on T.J. Tampa, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
James Williams in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Dallin Holker at pick No. 161 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Curtis Jacobs at pick 171 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jordan Jefferson at the 172nd overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jaylen Harrell at slot 210 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
