The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Edefuan Ulofoshio, the Round 6 slot, roughly 50 picks past where he belonged.
If Lindberg pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at tight end, quarterback and other spots. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
They did well to land Brian Thomas Jr. in the 32nd pick, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Chris Braswell at No. 64 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A surprising call. With tight end, quarterback and other spots still to address, they spent the Round 3 slot on Maason Smith, a DT-EDGE they were not short of.
Kamal Hadden at slot 133 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Jaylen Wright in pick No. 158; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kitan Oladapo. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Edefuan Ulofoshio at pick 210 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
