Somebody in No. 252 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chiefs sat still while Daijun Edwards, the No. 188 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
They will replay Troy Franklin at No. 64 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Nice patience on Theo Johnson, who had no business lasting to slot 132. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Steal is underselling it; Jarrian Jones at the 159th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Walter Rouse in the 173rd pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Daijun Edwards at pick 252 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
