You can draft well and still miss the point. The Chiefs did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Jones. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a go-to option on the outside, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Patrick Paul at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Christian Mahogany at pick 95 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They took Ben Sinnott at par in the 133rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They read the board right and Jarrian Jones was the payoff at Round 5, Pick 22. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No edge and no loss on Khristian Boyd in No. 172; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
