The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
That Eboigbe pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels in the 7th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
In the 29th pick they get a blindside protector, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Adonai Mitchell in Round 2, Pick 2. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kiran Amegadjie at slot 68 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Elijah Jones at pick 137 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor itch, scratched.
They will replay Justin Eboigbe at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cornelius Johnson in No. 193 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nice patience on Jordan Magee, who had no business lasting to pick No. 231. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
