The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named cornerback, a need the Cowboys walked right past. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Knox has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 30 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They did well to land Cooper Beebe in slot 62, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Braelon Allen went about where he belonged in the 93rd overall pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A reach for Payton Wilson in the Round 4 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
T.J. Sanders in Round 5, Pick 38 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Anthony Belton at the 212th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trey Knox this early at pick No. 251. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
