Somebody in pick No. 92 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cowboys sat still while Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, the No. 51 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 12 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Sonny Styles in pick 20, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They barely believed it either: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren still on the board at No. 92. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Malik Muhammad slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the cornerback. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Skyler Gill-Howard at the 152nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
No edge and no loss on Seth McGowan in pick No. 177; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 40, with Eric Rivers worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
By-the-book stuff, Miles Kitselman at the 218th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
