They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Dominic Zvada, 46 picks early at Round 7, Pick 39.
The Lance steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Blake Miller at the 52nd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jacob Rodriguez slid further than he should have, and slot 84 is lovely value for the linebacker. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They will replay Bryce Lance at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
The board had Charles Demmings higher than pick 160, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Keagen Trost at pick No. 201 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy bit of business in the 236th overall pick, where Noah Whittington graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Dominic Zvada in the 255th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
