You could see the war room lean forward. Tylan Grable at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
Adonai Mitchell at pick 32 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy little value on Patrick Paul in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in the 95th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Isaac Guerendo in the 122nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
By-the-book stuff, Jarrian Jones at Round 4, Pick 32 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Nice patience on Mason McCormick, who had no business lasting to pick No. 159. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Tykee Smith at slot 173 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
They robbed the room for Tylan Grable here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
