The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Theo Wease at pick No. 88 regardless, 45 picks early. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Jackson.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 19 they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Amarius Mims slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 8 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
The board had T.J. Tampa higher than pick No. 57, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, TreVeyon Henderson at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Theo Wease in No. 88, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Nice patience on Roman Wilson, who had no business lasting to pick 119. A need, and now a little less of one.
Somehow Donovan Jackson was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 35, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. The roster fit checks out.
