They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop.
On value alone, Foster makes the weekend a net positive. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels at No. 7 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They took Xavier Worthy at par in the 44th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Caelen Carson is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No drama and no debate, Leonard Taylor III went about where he belonged in pick No. 112. The roster fit checks out.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Javon Foster in pick 150, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nice patience on Michael Barrett, who had no business lasting to slot 190. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The board had Blake Watson higher than Round 7, Pick 14, and the running back fell to them anyway. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
