They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, 144 picks early at the 220th overall pick. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.
Kiser falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.
The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
If Travis Hunter and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Travis Hunter. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Jake Majors at the 67th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jayden Higgins at No. 79 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good price on Mason Taylor in pick 103, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
JJ Pegues at slot 138 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Somehow Jack Kiser was still sitting there in pick No. 219, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins in pick 220 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A big swing on Tim Smith at the 238th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
