For all the boxes ticked, the Patriots skipped the loudest one: edge rusher is exactly as bare as it was. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
