The search is over. The Vikings handed the keys to Michael Penix Jr., and the whole operation now runs on his development.
Williams at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The phones were where this weekend was really won. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get juice off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Value with a capital V on Michael Penix Jr. in slot 24, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 56, where Cooper Beebe graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A quiet steal in the Round 4 slot: Caelen Carson for less than the market said. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.

Julian Pearl in the 232nd overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board fumbled Nathaniel Watson all the way to slot 235, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
