Start where it matters. The Giants took Michael Penix Jr. to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Getting Green where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 6 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Ricky Pearsall at pick 70. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Mekhi Wingo in the 107th pick, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They barely believed it either: Renardo Green still on the board at Round 4, Pick 8. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Johnny Wilson slid further than he should have, and slot 141 is lovely value for the wide receiver. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They liked Cody Schrader enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Nice patience on Kamal Hadden, who had no business lasting to the 183rd overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
