Somewhere a general manager is explaining how T.J. Sanders got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at Round 6, Pick 34. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

A quiet steal in No. 12: Travis Hunter for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Ashton Jeanty at slot 44 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Taking Walter Nolen in the 76th pick is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Wyatt Milum reach pick No. 148 and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tre Harris in Round 5, Pick 31 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They robbed the room for Cam Ward here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jahdae Barron in the 171st overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Josaiah Stewart at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, T.J. Sanders in slot 209, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
