Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Patriots were there to profit. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, the No. 195 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 231.
The cost of the Travis reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Marvin Harrison Jr. in pick 3, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy little value on Tyler Guyton in pick No. 34, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
A quiet steal in slot 68: Mike Sainristil for less than the market said. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They went early on Cedric Gray in the Round 4 slot, and the value did not follow. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.

Jordan Jefferson is a better player than Round 6, Pick 18 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Somehow Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint was still sitting there in the 231st pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
