Good, not great, for the Cowboys: B-.

They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: DeMonte Capehart, 188 picks early at the 204th pick.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Hardy pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They took Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at par in No. 56, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Blake Corum in pick 87; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Johnny Wilson in Round 3, Pick 25 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cedric Johnson at the 173rd pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They talked themselves into DeMonte Capehart at the 204th overall pick, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They robbed the room for Daequan Hardy here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Matthew Jones at the 231st overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A big swing on Dominique Hampton at pick No. 242, well ahead of any board in the building. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
