The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Curtis Jacobs, the No. 198 name on the board, sitting there at pick 219 like a gift left on the doorstep. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They will answer for taking linebacker early while quarterback, tight end and other spots went begging. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
