Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Aaron Anderson got past him. The Titans do not have to explain a thing at pick 225. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
They will need Perkins Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 9 they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In the Round 1 slot they get a three-down second-level presence, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
They read the board right and Olaivavega Ioane was the payoff at the 35th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid sticker price for Dontay Corleone in pick No. 66, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Harold Perkins Jr. in slot 101, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Drew Allar in pick 142 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Oscar Delp slid further than he should have, and Round 5, Pick 4 is lovely value for the tight end. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Domani Jackson slipping to the 184th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Steal is underselling it; Kevin Coleman Jr. at slot 194 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Aaron Anderson in No. 225 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
