The Titans did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jake Slaughter fell into slot 73. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Moss has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 8 they get an every-down engine for the run game. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A premium they did not need to pay, Joshua Josephs a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
By-the-book stuff, Antonio Williams at No. 66 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jake Slaughter in Round 3, Pick 9 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Malik Muhammad at par in pick No. 101, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A slide stopped in the 142nd overall pick, with Harold Perkins Jr. worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 144 with a little surplus value in J.C. Davis. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jeff Caldwell in the 184th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Le'Veon Moss at pick No. 186 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid sticker price for Aaron Graves in the 194th pick, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nothing to complain about; Miles Kitselman went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
