For all the boxes ticked, the Packers skipped the loudest one: quarterback is exactly as bare as it was.
That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The Jones pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a centerfielder for the defense at fair value.
By-the-book stuff, Kris Jenkins at pick 41 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for Adisa Isaac in No. 57, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They jumped the gun on Audric Estime, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Zak Zinter at the 91st overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jarrian Jones in the 125th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Fair-plus on Cedric Gray, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Nothing to complain about; Jared Wiley went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in the 217th pick: Jawhar Jordan for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They went early on Matthew Jones in the Round 6 slot, and the value did not follow. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They took Dwight McGlothern at par in Round 7, Pick 26, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
