For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Packers walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Zuhn III at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The Zah Frazier deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
The board had Lee Hunter higher than the 59th overall pick, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
Daylen Everette in No. 84 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Julian Neal in pick 120 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Nice patience on Zxavian Harris, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 20. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Cyrus Allen at pick No. 167 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A quiet steal in the 201st pick: Dallen Bentley for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They did well to land Jaydn Ott in slot 236, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Andre Fuller at the Round 7 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Trey Zuhn III at pick No. 255 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
