You build a draft on nights like this. TreVeyon Henderson had no business being available in the Round 6 slot, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get a sticky cover corner, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A tidy little value on Shemar Stewart in the 56th overall pick, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They will replay Dylan Fairchild at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
Danny Stutsman at the 125th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Somehow Ajani Cornelius was still sitting there in pick No. 159, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A running back of that caliber at No. 199 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Oronde Gadsden II at Round 7, Pick 21 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Jack Kiser at pick 250 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
