The Rams ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
They banked enough surplus on Hall to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.
The veteran additions, Laiatu Latu chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
A slide stopped in the 26th overall pick, with Sonny Styles worth more than the price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
In pick No. 28 they get a red-zone target to build around, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Gennings Dunker at Round 2, Pick 29. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Trey Zuhn III in the 126th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No edge and no loss on Caleb Douglas in slot 165; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Aaron Graves in No. 207 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Latrell McCutchin Sr. at No. 232 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Zavion Thomas in slot 251 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A cornerback of that caliber at pick 252 is the definition of value, full stop. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
