They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Jack Westover, 71 picks early at No. 249. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Whatever Jayden Daniels becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Landing Torrence that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The Isaiah Wynn deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
They took Adonai Mitchell at par in Round 2, Pick 2, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They read the board right and Kiran Amegadjie was the payoff at No. 73. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No edge and no loss on Cam Hart in slot 103; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A straight-up fair deal on Anthony Gould at the 137th pick, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A conviction pick on Jase McClellan at pick No. 184 that the board grades a round light. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Value with a capital V on Ro Torrence in pick 193, a genuine coup. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
They reached into another round for Austin Reed, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jack Westover in slot 249 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
