The tape said wait; the Cowboys did not. Marist Liufau went at the 141st pick, a good 23 picks before the board was ready. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a blindside protector at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Ja'Lynn Polk went about where he belonged in No. 70. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Trey Benson at par in pick No. 87, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
They liked McKinnley Jackson enough to skip the value, taking him in the 107th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
