The rest of the league will want that one back. Demetrius Knight Jr. tumbling to the Cardinals in pick No. 153 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
Reaching for Thornton Jr. left real value on the table behind him. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Germaine Pratt deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 17 they get a load in the middle at fair value.
Bradyn Swinson in the Round 2 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They did well to land Tate Ratledge in pick 78, just ahead of his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
You do not let a safety like Xavier Watts reach the 81st pick and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Nice patience on Jaylin Noel, who had no business lasting to slot 114. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They barely believed it either: Demetrius Knight Jr. still on the board at pick No. 153. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in No. 154 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
