The Cowboys looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Kingsley Eguakun at pick 244 regardless, 55 picks early. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Getting Rosemy-Jacksaint where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Mike Evans pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
By-the-book stuff, Payton Wilson at slot 56 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Blake Corum in pick No. 87. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Justin Rogers at the 174th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 216 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No drama and no debate, Trevin Wallace went about where he belonged in No. 233. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A big swing on Kingsley Eguakun at No. 244, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
