The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cardinals watched Devin Neal slide 69 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
They will need Alexander to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyler Booker at the 47th pick is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Darius Alexander this early at No. 78. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Tez Johnson at pick 86 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They robbed the room for Andrew Mukuba here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
You do not let a running back like Devin Neal reach pick No. 153 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
