When a board-topper like Chris Paul Jr. slides to pick 114, you do not overthink it, and the Cardinals did not.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 17 they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Value with a capital V on Tyleik Williams in pick 47, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy bit of business in the 78th overall pick, where Jalen Royals graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 81 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Chris Paul Jr. in the 114th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
Jake Majors in No. 118 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board had Mello Dotson higher than slot 153, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
