Whoever sat across the table from the Commanders should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.

The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Ja'Whaun Bentley deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.3 · Pick 3 · Joe Alt · OT · rank 3
In No. 3 they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.2 · Pick 34 · JT Tuimoloau · DE-EDGE · rank 33
JT Tuimoloau at the 34th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R2.10 · Pick 42 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 42
A straight-up fair deal on Troy Fautanu at pick 42, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Jermaine Burton · WR · rank 63
Jermaine Burton at slot 66 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.3 · Pick 67 · Sedrick Van Pran · C · rank 74
They took Sedrick Van Pran at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.37 · Pick 100 · Luke Lachey · TE · rank 106
No edge and no loss on Luke Lachey in Round 3, Pick 37; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.2 · Pick 102 · Will Shipley · RB · rank 100
No drama and no debate, Will Shipley went about where he belonged in the 102nd overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
