They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Getting Barton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

Pick-by-Pick
Graham Barton at the Round 2 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Payton Wilson in No. 56 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A straight-up fair deal on Devontez Walker at pick No. 67, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on Trey Benson in the 87th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jarrian Jones at slot 139 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A conviction pick on Marist Liufau at the 152nd pick that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board had Walter Rouse higher than pick No. 174, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They liked Cedric Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 6, Pick 41. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
