You could see the war room lean forward. Myles Harden at Round 7, Pick 9 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
So much rides on Michael Penix Jr. that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In pick No. 26 they get a passer to set the clock by, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Malik Washington at slot 82 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They robbed the room for Caelen Carson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tyrone Tracy Jr. in No. 148, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
You do not let a linebacker like Jordan Magee reach the 208th pick and blink. They did not. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Garret Greenfield in the 223rd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Myles Harden at the Round 7 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
