Whoever sat across the table from the Chiefs should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.
Eichenberg at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get an anchor for the offensive line at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Devontez Walker in the 64th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Mekhi Wingo in slot 133 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Luke McCaffrey at pick No. 159 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
