After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Bo Nix is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Bell value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Rice reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 12th pick they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In pick No. 25 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A real need, handled.
In pick 26 they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Troy Fautanu at Round 2, Pick 2 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They liked Brenden Rice enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 58. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Bucky Irving at the Round 4 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.

You do not let a tight end like Jaheim Bell reach No. 182 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Myles Jones slipping to slot 224 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Good price on J.J. Weaver in pick No. 232, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
