Somebody took the Cowboys to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The Guyton pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 4 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
In the 24th pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They barely believed it either: Tyler Guyton still on the board at slot 56. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Trey Benson in Round 3, Pick 22 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No drama and no debate, Ainias Smith went about where he belonged in pick No. 136. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A straight-up fair deal on Brennan Jackson at pick 156, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
By-the-book stuff, Cody Schrader at the 174th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Somehow Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint was still sitting there in the Round 6 slot, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jordan Magee at Round 7, Pick 13. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Garret Greenfield at pick 244 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
