The Cowboys spent real capital to be 35 picks early on Jawhar Jordan, and the board is going to hold them to it. Put together, it is a D.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The DeJean value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
They robbed the room for Cooper DeJean here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They jumped the gun on Dominick Puni, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 24, where Ja'Lynn Polk graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They reached a country mile for Isaiah Davis at No. 136, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ty'Ron Hopper. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Keith Randolph Jr. at pick 216 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A straight-up fair deal on Tayvion Robinson at the 233rd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A real head-scratcher, Jawhar Jordan in the 244th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
