There is conviction, and then there is this. The Patriots took Oluwafemi Oladejo a full 96 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
Landing Gordon II that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.
The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

You do not let a linebacker like Jalon Walker reach Round 2, Pick 6 and blink. They did not. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Fair-plus on Jalen Royals, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Deone Walker slipping to pick 77 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Denzel Burke graded well above the range. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
