The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Aireontae Ersery, pick No. 76, roughly 28 picks past where he belonged.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Trapilo pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 12th overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A straight-up fair deal on Wyatt Milum at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No drama and no debate, Xavier Watts went about where he belonged in slot 44. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zy Alexander. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A slide stopped in pick No. 69, with TreVeyon Henderson worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Aireontae Ersery at the 76th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
Ozzy Trapilo in Round 3, Pick 13 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
They paid sticker price for Smael Mondon Jr. in No. 105, and that is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
