Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Dolphins came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
However the rest shakes out, Greenfield at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Chris Braswell at the Round 2 slot is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Michael Hall Jr. in Round 3, Pick 24. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy bit of business in slot 158, where Luke McCaffrey graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They let Tykee Smith come to them and pounced at No. 174. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
The board fumbled Dwight McGlothern all the way to pick No. 184, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jordan Magee in No. 232. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Garret Greenfield in pick No. 241, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
