Thirty-one other rooms let Nehemiah Pritchett slide, and the Dolphins were the ones holding the card at the 184th pick. Highway robbery. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They will need Robinson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 29 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A real need, handled.
They paid sticker price for Braden Fiske in No. 55, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Worthy at the 61st pick squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A big swing on Layden Robinson at the 158th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It fills a real need, too.
You do not let a cornerback like Nehemiah Pritchett reach pick No. 184 and blink. They did not. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They paid a round early for Jaylen Harrell in the Round 6 slot, more than the board wanted. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Josh Proctor in Round 7, Pick 21 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
