Whoever sat across the table from the Dolphins should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get protection for the quarterback. A real need, handled.
No drama and no debate, Braden Fiske went about where he belonged in slot 55. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A slide stopped in the 87th pick, with Brandon Dorlus worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They read the board right and Luke McCaffrey was the payoff at pick No. 158. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They let Malik Mustapha come to them and pounced at the 184th overall pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A straight-up fair deal on Erick All at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Fair-plus on Donovan Jennings, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
